Margaret Atwood talks Conan!?!
I meant to post this a while ago, but I prefer to stagger my posts so there's at most one or two a day. In any case, I'm absolutely stunned by this: not only does Margaret Atwood have something to say about Conan... but that something is good. Taran of One Last Sketch sent this interview along, and I'm quite impressed. I'll try and get a transcript up and running, but be forewarned it's two minutes or so of Conan after a half-hour of other subjects, so don't expect this to be a Conan lecture: even so, I found the entire podcast very interesting.

I have little use for Margaret Atwood's or her opinions on fantasy or science fiction. She does not write either well at all, but I am somewhat intrigued to hear what she has to say about Conan.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I don't know how that "'s" got there at the end of "Atwood".
ReplyDeleteI used to be the same, but Atwood has recanted a lot of her views on SF and Fantasy. I gained much respect for her after that.
ReplyDeletewho is Margaret Atwood?

Margaret Atwood's an author, a very good one at that. I'm only really aware of her dystopian stories like The Handmaid's Tale (which is a novel I enjoyed immensely, though it's definitely not for everyone), Oryx & Cake and Year of the Flood, though.
