Better yet, he manages to tap into her feelings of outrage and anger at being treated like chattel. As always, Howard is with the underdog, male or female. Again REH shows his versatility and range as a writer.

Exactly, Charles. What's amazing is that, for such a male-oriented guy, he doesn't have Agnes think like how such men might think a woman thinks (I think): she acts and reacts like any human being would in her situation, and she just happened to be a woman. That's what attracts me most to the character, I think.

I'm not too familiar with Andreyko's works, but the last time he adapted something of interest to me (IDW Publishing's Castlevania) it was readable at best, but bizarre as an adaptation. True, he adapted a Game Boy title that didn't have much of a story to begin with, but the series as a whole has tons of lore, which he didn't use very well.

Oh, jings, Castlevania's one of those properties that's all over the joint. I haven't read any of Andreyko's work at all, but I'm desperate to be optimistic after ages of pessimism.Taranaichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02176999342965850175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7177193073415704349.post-42013223223795128882010-11-14T17:28:25.477+00:002010-11-14T17:28:25.477+00:00I'm not too familiar with Andreyko's works...I'm not too familiar with Andreyko's works, but the last time he adapted something of interest to me (IDW Publishing's Castlevania) it was readable at best, but bizarre as an adaptation.
